Here are my lyrics
Home in the Shire
(sung to the tune of "Home on the Range")
Oh, give me a home, where the porcupines roam,
Where the moose and the squirrels play,
Where seldom is found, a sirening sound,
And the skies fill with clouds every day.
Chorus version 1:
Home, home in the shire,
Where the spark of freedom's a fire,
Where seldom is found, a sirening sound,
And the liberty's higher and higher.
Oh, give me a place, where the whole human race,
Can peacefully all get along,
Where the force we abhor, is relied on no more,
And harmony flows in a song,
Chorus version 2:
Home, home in the shire,
Where the spark of freedom's a fire,
Where porcupines roam, in the place we call home,
And the more freedom we inspire.
Oh, give me a land, where trade is not banned,
And victims are needed for crime,
Where those who seek power,
Will find that the flower,
Of freedom won't give them the time.
Chorus
How often I've yearned, that the savings I've earned,
Could be mine to spend or to keep,
Or to give for good things, and the joy that it brings,
Would be honest and true and deep.
Instead of the tax, that political hacks,
Think is theirs to take and decide,
And to do with at will.
In this one place a hill,
We are setting to make their path slide.
Chorus
I want to amend, that this tough journey's end,
Is not yet in sight but soon must.
And all those who seek, to arrive at the peak,
of freedom say NH or bust.
Chorus
(Now moving on beyond the verses I sang on the podcast)
With all those who move, we are setting the groove,
And soon the ball will be ours.
We will roll back the state, that's so easy to hate,
And instead private services flower.
New Hampshire is bound, to be zero ground,
Where liberty starts to occur.
Where those who enjoy, Freedom, girl or boy,
Will soon someday refer.
Someday we will show, the world it's a go,
That, yes, freedom does really work.
And soon it will spread, and with tyranny fled,
The whole earth will not give a shirk.
I don't know which town, from here to go down,
When first I arrive in the Shire.
I must choose a place, to have as a base,
And so many have much to admire.
(The rest is trying to describe different parts of the state of New Hampshire).
For those who resist, to have freedom best,
The place they all gather is Keene.
Unless you want soil, and plenty of toil,
In which case Grafton is the scene.
To be around those, who've chosen the woes,
Of big city life, Manchester's key,
And if you want warm, and small town charm,
Then you would move to the sea.
If you must commute, to Mass for your loot,
Then Nashua might be a good spot,
And if you're a brain, with a good school to gain,
Then Lebanon's right on the dot.
There's also the lakes, Where all it takes,
Is some money to buy a good square.
And up in the wood, you can pull up your hood,
And wander out to see a bear.
If you want to talk, about liberty, walk
Any town, then make your own show.
But if you like the vote, politics is your boat,
Then Concord's a good place to go.
You're welcome to use any of these, just give me a credit (and if you make some money off these lyrics I wouldn't mind a cut of the dough/loot/cold hard cash, I mean silver).

Episode 3 posted - Introduction to libertarianism
See my podcast site, freedomrambler.podomatic.com.
Recorded on July 12.
I read some articles explaining what libertarianism is, what libertarians believe, which I found at The Advocates for Self-government website (theadvocates.org). I also introduce my first attempt at writing liberty lyrics to an old classic song, Home on the Range. I call it, Home in the Shire.
I should explain that the Shire is the common name used by some members of the Free State Project to denote the alternate, peaceful society we wish to set up. This alternate society based on voluntary interactions is symbolized by the unveiling of our new declaration of independence, called The Shire Society Declaration, on June 26, 2010, and which I had the proud honor of being a signer of on that day during my recent visit to New Hampshire. The name the Shire is part of the state name of New Hampshire, of course. It also refers to the peaceful society of the Hobbits in the Lord of the Rings books, of course, though that was not the reason for the name choice.
I will post my lyrics in a separate post. Others are free to use or modify these, I just ask to be given credit if you use some of my lyrics.

Plans for future editing
Just so you know - the reason I had two files for Episode 2 is because my computer is too slow to open the editing software. I do have a borrowed laptop but still need to install the editing program I plan to use, and I wanted to post another episode since it had been so long since Episode 1.
Expect another episode around Monday.

Episode 2 posted on podomatic
My 2nd episode is finally up, after many technical issues.
I recorded a new version Wednesday where my mother and two brothers ask me questions about my recent trip to New Hampshire. Check it out!
There is a second file, listed as Episode 2A, with the musical part of the show. Soon I will know how to combine the two files, so I don't expect a 2 file episode again. Sorry for those of you experiencing the pain of my learning curve with me.
In upcoming episodes I expect to have some musical performances with my relatives singing to my playing piano. Also I will begin a basic explanation of what libertarianism is all about, and how to tell what your political "home" is. It will be awesome!
The podomatic website for the downloadable files is http://freedomrambler.podomatic.com/
